HC Deb 01 May 1951 vol 487 c995
36. Mr. Walter Fletcher

asked the Minister of Local Government and Planning, in view of the heavy consumption of water by all types of industry in the North-West Region, when he expects in creased facilities for the supply of water to become available.

Mr. Dalton

Since the end of the war my predecessor and I have approved new schemes for water supply in Lancashire and Cheshire worth £11½ million. These schemes are steadily being completed.

Mr. Fletcher

Is the Minister satisfied that progress is quick enough in view of the rapidly expanding demand in that area?

Mr. Dalton

It is as quick as we can make it.
