§ 45. Mr. Boyd-Carpenterasked the Prime Minister what are the rules governing the acceptance or retention of directorships by chairmen or other full-time members of the boards of nationalised industries.
§ The Prime Minister (Mr. Attlee)The practice is to require a full-time member of the board of a socialised industry to resign, or refrain from accepting, any directorship the retention of which is likely in the opinion of the Minister concerned to affect prejudicially the discharge by him of his functions.
