21. Mr. Eric Fletcher

asked the Minister of Education what are the principal objects of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation's Conference at Florence.

Mr. Tomlinson

This is the Fifth Session of the General Conference of U.N.E.S.C.O. Its principal object is to determine the policies and the main lines of work of the Organisation with particular reference to the budget and the programme of work for the coming year.

Mr. Fletcher

Are arrangements made for making known the activities of U.N.E.S.C.O in the schools?

Mr. Tomlinson

Yes, Sir. We try to get as much factual information as is possible to the authorities so that it may be included, wherever possible, in the school curriculum.
