HC Deb 24 May 1950 vol 475 cc2031-2
8. Mr. Harold Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he is now able to tell the House what form the agreement on the need for collaboration in the development of South-East Asia took at the recent discussion between the Foreign Ministers in London.

The Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Ernest Davies)

I would refer my hon. Friend to the relevant passage in the final communique issued on 13th May after the meetings of the three Foreign Ministers and which defines the form and extent of the agreement reached on South-East Asia matters.

Mr. Harold Davies

Is there any hope of elaborating that statement and giving a little more detail in today's Debate, in view of the paucity of the information given this House about Far Eastern affairs?

Mr. Ernest Davies

Perhaps my hon. Friend will exercise a little patience and sit through the Debate.
