HC Deb 24 May 1950 vol 475 c2055
45. Mr. Erroll

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that the long interval which frequently elapses between the presentation of papers to the House and the availability of the full texts, either in typed or printed form to hon. Members, causes them inconvenience; and if he will instruct all Departments to ensure that there is no avoidable delay in accordance with the Order of the House of 20th March, 1871.

The Prime Minister (Mr. Attlee)

I am aware that there have been long intervals in a small number of cases, chiefly for technical reasons connected with the publication of accounts. There is, of course, no wish to cause inconvenience and if the hon. Member will tell me of the particular cases he has in mind, I will look into the matter.

Mr. Erroll

In that case, would the Prime Minister accompany me to the Library at the end of Questions, when I will show him a number of such examples?
