HC Deb 16 May 1950 vol 475 c998
45. Sir H. Williams

asked the Lord President of the Council when it will be convenient to find time for the Motion in the name of the hon. Member for Croydon, East, and other hon. Members, in respect of the Special Report from the Select Committee on the Kitchen and Refreshment Rooms.

The Secretary of State for the Home Department (Mr. Ede)

I have been asked to reply. The Select Committee stated in their Report that they are undertaking a complete survey, and I think it would be best to await the results of this before considering a Debate.

Sir H. Williams

Having regard to the fact that the party opposite is very fond of facing the past, does the right hon. Gentleman not think we might well face the past of this Committee before we consider their future?

Mr. Ede

I gather that my right hon. Friend's suggestion is that we should do it from the best vantage point.
