HC Deb 10 May 1950 vol 475 cc368-9
38. Lieut.-Colonel Lipton

asked the Secretary of State for Air what has been the cost of training Egyptian airmen by the Royal Air Force in this country; and who bears the cost.

Mr. Crawley

The cost of training given to Egyptian airmen by the R.A.F. in this country since 1st January, 1949, amounts to £20,024. The cost is met by the Egyptian Government.

Lieut.-Colonel Lipton

Can my hon. Friend say for how much longer this form of training is to be provided?

Mr. Speaker

The Question asks only for the cost, and not for the length of time.
