HC Deb 29 March 1950 vol 473 c379
13. Mr. John Grimston

asked the Postmaster-General if he will consider abolishing the form which must be signed by captains of aircraft landing in the United Kingdom from abroad which certifies that the aircraft is not carrying any mail.

Mr. Ness Edwards

A declaration of compliance with the Post Office Act in regard to the handing over of mail is required by Section 27 (2) of the Act of 1908 as amended by the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1935. I am, however, considering whether the form in use can be simplified and I will communicate with the hon. Member as soon as my inquiries are complete.
