§ 49. Mr. Remnantasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will give an assurance to retain agricultural workers' hostels, where there is need for the workers and no suitable alternative accommodation.
Mr. T. WilliamsIt is my policy steadily to reduce the amount of C.A.E.C. pool labour. Where, however, committee workers are available, and farmers willing to take them into their employment are prevented from doing so by lack of accommodation, committees will be prepared to consider the temporary retention of individual hostels provided that they can be kept reasonably full.
