One application, to link these places on a service between Belfast and Aberdeen.

81. Sir W. Darling

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation what proposals he has received for linking Edinburgh with Scandinavia by direct airline in the near future.

Mr. Beswick

None, Sir.

Sir W. Darling

Does the Parliamentary Secretary recognise the importance of the City of Edinburgh and the desirability of maintaining good relations with the Continent of Europe? In these circumstances, would he reconsider the implications of the Question?

Mr. Beswick

The answer to the first two parts of the Question is "Yes, Sir"; the answer to the second part is that we shall be glad to reconsider it if any applications are made.
