19. Mr. Crouch

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will arrange that all battalion commanders of cadet corps shall have a degree of priority for the installation of a telephone line.

Mr. Ness Edwards

I regret I am unable to arrange this priority in view of the many urgent claims on our limited resources. If, however, the hon. Member has a particular case in mind, I will gladly look into it.

Mr. Crouch

Is the Minister aware that these commanders have wide areas to cover and that they are working exceedingly hard to increase the strength of their companies? I have heard from the Minister that it will be 18 months before a certain commander can have a telephone installed. Does the right hon. Gentleman consider that to be giving priority?

I have sympathy with the point of view of the hon. Gentleman, and if I can do anything to help I will do so if he will let me have particulars
