HC Deb 10 July 1950 vol 477 cc958-9
57. Mr. Mott-Radclyffe

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will make a further statement regarding the conversations in Paris between representatives of His Majesty's Government and the Albanian Government in respect of the payment awarded to His Majesty's Government by The Hague Court, as a result of the Corfu Channel Incident.

Mr. Ernest Davies

No, Sir, but a further meeting is to take place shortly.

Mr. Mott-Radclyffe

Has any further meeting taken place since 19th June, when the last Parliamentary Question was put down?

Mr. Davies

No, Sir, but there has been correspondence about what is to be discussed at the further meeting, and this meeting is to take place very shortly.

Mr. Mott-Radclyffe

Does the hon. Gentleman realise that some of us are getting a little suspicious about this unending delay, and that the House and the country wish to know what progress is being made?

Mr. Nicholson

Are His Majesty's Government, in this case, again surprised at the delay?
