§ 10. Mr. G. R. Howardasked the President of the Board of Trade how much tinplate of the quality used for canning was exported to Japan in the period April to September, 1950.
§ Mr. HowardWill the right hon. Gentleman give an assurance that no such exports will be made to Japan until there are adequate supplies to canners in this country?
Mr. WilsonWe have very strict controls over the shipment of tinplate to other countries, and I should think that it would be unlikely that we should allocate tinplate for shipment to Japan during the condition to which the hon. Gentleman refers.
