§ Mr. ShinwellThe pay of Army recruiters varies from £5 8s. to £5 14s. a week, according to the station. In addition, they are supplied with uniform and boots. Duties broadly similar to those of the Army recruiter are carried out in the Royal Navy by pensioners re-engaged on an active service basis, and in the R.A.F. by serving members of the Force In these circumstances, a straightforward comparison is not possible, but I am satisfied that the conditions of employment of recruiters in each Service are in keeping with their responsibilities.
§ Viscount HinchingbrookeIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that some Army recruiters have made the calculation that Royal Navy and Air Force recruiters are receiving about £10 per week in comparison to their own £5? Will he look at the matter again, in relation to all the allowances given?
