asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware of the large number of late claims for war damage being rejected on purely technical grounds; and if he will consider taking steps to deal with cases of hardship.

The consideration of late notifications of war damage has been entrusted by Parliament to the discretion of the War Damage Commission, and I can see no ground at this date for altering that arrangement.
