HC Deb 24 April 1950 vol 474 c577
7. Mr. Geoffrey Hutchinson

asked the Minister of Transport when it is proposed to widen the bridge which carries Eastern Avenue over the railway at Newbury Park Station, Ilford.

Mr. Barnes

I regret that I am unable to say when it will be possible to proceed with this work, which would involve substantial expenditure.

Mr. Hutchinson

Does the Minister appreciate that this place is one of the black spots for traffic in this part of Greater London?

Mr. Barnes

I travel over this spot repeatedly, and would like to see the improvement carried out. That shows my impartiality in these matters.

Mr. Hutchinson

In view of the unsatisfactory reply, I give notice that I shall raise this matter on the Adjournment at the earliest convenient moment.
