HC Deb 24 April 1950 vol 474 c586
27. Air-Commodore Harvey

asked the Minister of Supply what sum the United States has paid to Power Jets Research and Development Limited for the use of its engine designs and patents as from September, 1945.

Mr. J. Freeman

No payment has yet been made.

Air-Commodore Harvey

Does the Minister agree that it is quite wrong that this country should not receive royalties and that quite recently Britain paid America £1¼ million in royalties for textile spinning processes? Will he take this matter up to see whether he can get payments for inventions from this country?

Mr. Freeman

We have already taken it up with the greatest possible vigour, and I ask the hon. and gallant Member not to press me about it at the moment. We are in negotiation with the United States Government, and I think that there will be a satisfactory outcome.
