asked the Minister of Transport when he will reach decisions in conjunction with the Minister of Town and Country Planning which will enable the London County Council to fix the routes of the new ring and radial roads suggested in the County of London Plan.

Mr. Barnes

I am still considering this matter in consultation with my right hon. Friend, and I hope to make a statement shortly.

Mr. Russell

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that this matter has been outstanding nearly four years, and that the last part of his statement will be received with great acclamation?

Mr. Eric Fletcher

Will my right hon. Friend bear in mind that to enable the London County Council to proceed with housing plans it is most desirable that a decision on this matter should be reached at the earliest possible date?

Mr. Barnes

I can assure my hon. Friend that the decision will not be delayed very much longer.
