HC Deb 06 April 1950 vol 473 cc1352-3
67. Mrs. Braddock

asked the Minister of Health whether he will consider withdrawing Circular 1866 so that local authorities can recommence inquiries on slum clearance, as the deterioration of properties awaiting inquiry since 1939 has become so bad that notices to repair cannot be complied with.

Mr. Bevan

I am always ready to consider applications for confirmation of Orders in respect of clearance areas if the local authority are satisfied that the houses should no longer be occupied and that they can provide for the rehousing of the persons displaced.
