49. Mr. Hurd

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he has fixed any date for the completion of the further farm survey which the county agricultural executive committees are undertaking.

Mr. T. Williams

No, Sir. The farm survey is a continuing process, and the question of fixing a date for its completion does not arise. It should be possible to survey each farm at least once in three years.

Mr. Hurd

Is the Minister satisfied that he now has pretty well up to date information about the condition of every farm in the country?

Mr. Williams

I think that is the case, but, as the hon. Member is aware, for the first time the field of estate management is playing a part in this survey.

Mr. Baldwin

If the information is up to date, is it not about time it was acted upon?
