HC Deb 25 October 1949 vol 468 c1203
Mr. Blenkinsop

I beg to move, in page 49, line 38, to leave out lines 38 and 39, and to insert: the last foregoing paragraph shall have effect as if it required the objection to be considered, and authorised a local inquiry to be promoted, by the Ministers concerned instead of by the Minister. This is a drafting Amendment designed to make it clear that where a draft order for the setting up of a joint board leaves out a drainage authority, for instance, and that omission is the ground of the objection to the draft Order made by the drainage authority, then both Ministers must hear the objection.

Amendment agreed to.

Mr. T. Fraser

I beg to move, in page 51, line 22, to leave out from "Schedule," to the end of line 24, and to insert: the last foregoing paragraph shall have effect as if it required the objection to be considered, and authorised a local inquiry to be promoted, by the Minister and the Minister of Transport, instead of by the Minister; This Amendment is similar to the one which we have just made.

Amendment agreed to.
