asked the Minister of Supply what steps he is taking to ensure that there is no avoidable duplication in the ordering of expensive scientific and other equipment by related branches of his Department which would share equipment only occasionally used.

All demands made by Ministry of Supply research establishments for such equipment are examined centrally.
