HC Deb 05 May 1949 vol 464 cc1212-3
55. Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that farmers in Bedfordshire and elsewhere are still experiencing difficulty in obtaining barbed wire and galvanised water tubing; and what are the prospects of meeting their requirements.

Mr. T. Williams

I am aware that some farmers are still experiencing difficulty in getting barbed wire and galvanised water tubing. Supples of barbed wire have improved during the last few months and will continue to do so. The supply of steel water tubes has also been increased substantially in recent months.

Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

In a case of particular difficulty in my constituency, will the Minister be good enough to try to give some special help, if I send him details?

Mr. Williams

Most certainly we will see that Bedford gets its fair share of what is going.
