41. Mr. Palmer

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he is in a position to make an Order under Section 17 (1) of the Gas Act, 1948, appointing the Vesting Date.

Mr. Gaitskell

Yes, Sir. After careful consideration and after consultation with the Gas Council I have decided that the Vesting Date shall be 1st May, 1949, and I propose to make an Order to that effect.
