HC Deb 26 January 1949 vol 460 c893
2. Mr. George Ward

asked the Secretary of State for Air how many airfields are being used jointly by the R.A.F. and the scheduled air line operators.

Mr. A. Henderson

Six airfields in the United Kingdom are in regular joint use by the R.A.F. and scheduled air line operators. In addition seventeen airfields are so used occasionally when bad weather necessitates diversions. Another 42 airfields are available for use by the R.A.F. and scheduled air line operators but are not so used at present.

Mr. Ward

Can the Minister give an assurance that these arrangements are working smoothly and without friction?

Mr. Henderson

Yes, Sir.
