HC Deb 17 November 1948 vol 458 cc341-2
8. Mr. John McKay

asked the Secretary of State for Air if he is aware that at the R.A.F. station Kai Tek, Kowloon, Hong Kong, a vacancy was filled by a W/O from Ceylon; the resulting vacancy at Ceylon is to be filled by W/O Parkinson, who after many moves had settled down at Hong Kong; and the remaining vacancy at Hong Kong by a W/O from the United Kingdom; will he explain the waste of time, money and ship-room involved, when one W/O could instead have been sent from this country; and will he retain these men where they now are, in particular W/O Parkinson who is to sail on 21st November.

Mr. A. Henderson

I am making inquiries and will write to my hon. Friend as soon as possible. In the meantime W/O Parkinson's departure from Hong Kong has been deferred.
