HC Deb 17 November 1948 vol 458 c367
45. Mr. A. R. W. Low

asked the Minister of Defence if he will make a statement on pay and allowances for officers and men in the Armed Forces.

The Minister of Defence (Mr. A. V. Alexander)

If the hon. Member will put down a Question next week, I hope to be able to make a statement then.

Mr. Cobb

While my right hon. Friend is considering this, will he not overlook the question of the Women's Services, in which junior officers are now being advised that they ought to have a private income of £100 a year in order to carry out their job properly?

Mr. Alexander

Perhaps my hon. Friend will await the statement.
