§ Sir S. CrippsE.R.P. assistance is voted by Congress on an annual basis, and I can form no estimate of what, if any, assistance will be provided after June, 1949. For the current period Congress has voted 5 billion dollars (approximately £1,250 million), of which 1,235 million dollars (approximately £309 million) has been allocated to the U.K. for the nine months from April to December.
