asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that the 1946 Budget concessions to football clubs have in no way benefited spectators in Scotland, as was hoped for at that time, and that further concessions in the Budget this year have again failed to achieve this object; and failing readjustment of entrance money, if he will consider withdrawing these concessions.

I am aware that the Scottish clubs have so far refused to reduce their admission prices. I am proposing to take this matter up again with the Scottish clubs.

Is my right hon. and learned Friend aware that the Federation of Scottish Senior Football Supporters will be delighted if he succeeds in detaching the canny fingers of the Scottish League from this Entertainment Duty?

Is the Chancellor of the Exchequer aware that, since his statement, the concession of cheap rates of entry to old age pensioners into many football clubs has been stopped by the League? Will he also take this up?
