asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that under his regulations an American citizen is unable to buy a British car for dollars in London, or to take delivery in this country; and whether he will amend these regulations.

No, Sir. Any American citizen can buy a British car for delivery in the U.K. against payment in dollars, provided that if the car is from the export quota he intends to export it within a maximum period of one year from the date of purchase.
