HC Deb 11 November 1948 vol 457 c1697
3. Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the scheme for the provision of a piped water supply to the village of Langton Herring is still held up owing to the difficulty of obtaining a 2 in. pipe to carry the supply from the reservoir to the village and nearby farms; and, since it is now nearly 12 months since his announcement that he was doing what he could to help, whether he will take steps to help the Dorchester Rural District Council to obtain the pipes required without further delay.

The Minister of Health (Mr. Aneurin Bevan)

I am informed by the Dorchester Rural District Council that the 2 in. pipes have been delivered. I understand that the County Council are pressing for a larger main on one section for fire-fighting purposes, which may cause further delay.
