asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he now has any statement to make regarding the trial of the six Yugoslays who were handed over by the British authorities in Germany to the Yugoslav Government on 2nd August, after three years' detention in prisons or displaced persons' camps under British control.

Mr. Bevin

No, Sir. I have no information that these six persons have yet been brought to trial.

Mr. Stokes

Then is the report that they were put to death on the day of their arrival in Yugoslavia entirely without foundation, or can my right hon. Friend ask the Ambassador to find out, as the report is prevalent on the Continent?

Mr. Bevin

I have answered the Question which was put to me by my hon. Friend. I have no such information.

Is the House to understand that the Ambassador has not yet been asked what happened to these six men, who were handed over in circumstances which were debatable, and were debated?

Mr. Bevin

Yes. The Ambassador has been asked, but I have not had the report.
