HC Deb 11 May 1948 vol 450 cc1953-4
40. Lieut.-Commander Clark Hutchison

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will extend the scope of the Resettlement Grants Scheme to cover men who were disabled as a result of service in the 1914–18 war.

Mr. Ness Edwards

No, Sir. The Resettlements Grants Scheme for small business owners is a temporary Scheme for resettling in civil life, on their release from the Forces, men whose careers were interrupted by the recent war. Men who were similarly affected by the 1914–18 war were on release from service given the same resettlement opportunities under a corresponding scheme.
