HC Deb 06 May 1948 vol 450 c1450
57. Colonel Crosthwaite-Eyre

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why His Majesty's Government refused to grant foreign exchange for racing purposes to Mr. Healy in view of the success obtained by Healy cars in Italy.

Sir S. Cripps

The hon. and gallant Member has been misinformed. Mr. Healy applied recently for currency on business grounds, but gave no indication that he required exchange to enable him to participate in races, nor did he reply to certain necessary inquiries made with regard to his application.
