HC Deb 04 May 1948 vol 450 cc1067-8
8. Mr. Hugh Fraser

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the fact that some hundreds of conscientious objectors are receiving grants under the Further Education and Training Scheme, he will consider making those members of the Regular Army who had to continue their service during the war after their service's date of termination eligible for this scheme under paragraph 6 of leaflet P.L.120.

Mr. Isaacs

This scheme was designed to assist those whose careers or training had been interrupted, or prevented from starting, by war service. It is not therefore generally applicable to men who had chosen the Regular Army as their career.
