HC Deb 18 March 1948 vol 448 cc2290-1
83. Mr. Driberg

asked the Presid2nt of the Board of Trade if he has any statement to make on the Anglo-Yugoslav Trade Agreement.

The President of the Board of Trade (Mr. Harold Wilson)

I have still nothing to add to the reply given to my hon. Friend on 24th February.

Mr. Driberg

Would my right hon. Friend say whether there is any hope before Easter?

Mr. Wilson

I hope it may be possible to conclude a limited agreement, but I must say that the Yugoslav delegation in these negotiations have really made most extraordinary demands for the shipment of goods, particularly capital equipment, which we are just not in a position to supply.
