HC Deb 08 March 1948 vol 448 c774
10. Mr. David Renton

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that Polish troops at Diddington Camp, St. Neots, Hunts, are causing congestion on the local bus services with the result that school children, housewives, and others needing the bus services are unable to use them, and whether he will take steps to ensure that the Polish troops are provided with their own transport instead of having to overcrowd the local buses.

Mr. Barnes

My information is that the bus company now provide sufficient vehicles to carry all the passengers and that they are preparing a new timetable to spread the journeys more evenly over the day.

Vice-Admiral Taylor

I would like to ask the Minister if there is any special reason why the Polish people should have special buses.

Mr. Barnes

That seems to be another question.
