asked the Minister of Health the required establishment of personnel and buildings for carrying out the provisions of the Health Services on 5th July; and what is the present position.

There is no "required establishment" in this sense. We need all the best resources we can get; we shall start with what is here now, and then improve as fast as we can.

In view of the fact that the contributions are compulsory, what is going to happen if the service is not forthcoming—the usual chaos under nationalisation?

Mr. Bevan

The hon. Member should really acquaint himself with the facts. This is not a contributory service at all, and therefore the whole of his question is irrelevant.
