asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give an assurance that the deficits incurred by nationalised industries will not be met from resources other than those of the Boards running those industries, accruing from revenue or from their statutory powers granted by Parliament.

I can assure the hon. and gallant Member that such deficits will only be met in accordance with the provisions of the relevant statutes.
