HC Deb 08 July 1948 vol 453 c583
71. Mr. Peter Freeman

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will see that the University of Wales be granted the same status as those of Cambridge and Bristol in regard to veterinary training, particularly in view of the large agricultural interests in Wales.

The Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture (Mr. George Brown)

The Question presumably relates to the Veterinary Surgeons Bill now before the House. I would refer my hon. Friend to the discussion on this question both on the Second Reading of the Bill on 4th June, and in Standing Committee A on 29th June.

Mr. Freeman

Will my hon. Friend give sympathetic consideration to the matter when it comes up tomorrow?

Mr. Brown

The matter has been very fully ventilated, I think, and I have nothing to add to what has already been said.

Mr. Emrys Roberts

Is the Minister aware that the matter will be ventilated again and that he will not get away with it as easily as that?
