HC Deb 06 July 1948 vol 453 c183
6. Mr. Sharp

asked the Secretary of State for War to what extent the peak type of service cap is now being made available to the soldier; and whether there are any limitations on the occasions on which it may be worn.

Mr. Shinwell

The peaked cap is worn by all troops authorised to wear service dress, and with battle dress by Foot Guards, the Corps of Royal Military Police, instructors, Small Arms School Corps, and Water Transport Units. It is not worn on field training or operations.
