HC Deb 29 January 1948 vol 446 c1185
36. Mr. Hurd

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the continued scarcity of mending wool and when the promised extra supplies will be on sale.

Mr. H. Wilson

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given to the hon. Member for Hornsey (Mr. Gammans) on 16th December last.

Mr. Hurd

Is the Minister aware that the present supply is still quite inadequate, and that for the sake of decency he must allow our wives to have more mending wool, so that they can keep our clothes properly darned?
