§ 87. Sir W. Darlingasked the Minister of Transport what proportion of the reduction of 20,000 of the labour force employed on roads is to fall in Scotland; and if, in planning such reductions, he had in mind the relatively severe weather conditions obtaining in that country.
§ Mr. BarnesI am not yet in a position to say what reduction will be required in the number of men employed on road maintenance in Scotland, but I can assure the hon. Member that in deciding this all relevant factors will be taken into account.
