HC Deb 26 January 1948 vol 446 c648
29. Mr. Bowden

asked the Minister of Food if he will reconsider the method of allocation of imported poultry, as ex-Service men and others who have opened retail shops since 1938 find that no allocation can be made to them as they were not selling imported poultry in that year, thus giving decided advantages to the old established business and imposing a hardship on the new business and its customers.

Mr. Strachey

The Committee I recently set up to investigate illicit trading in livestock meat, poultry and rabbits is also examining this and related matters. I will consider my hon. Friend's suggestion in the light of the Committee's report when I receive it.
