HC Deb 26 February 1948 vol 447 c2124
76. Mr. Gunter

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware of the appalling conditions prevailing at Parkers Farm Hutments, High Road, Hockley, Essex, and the grave danger to the health of the inhabitants; and will he take steps to remedy the situation.

The Minister of Health (Mr. Aneurin Bevan)

I am advised that the hutments cannot be converted into really habitable dwellings. Two offers of alternative accommodation have been made and refused. The Rural District Council is now making a third, which I hope will be acceptable.
