§ 14. Commander Maitlandasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty how many petty officers and chief petty officers of all branches signed on to complete for full pension during each of the quarters of 1947.
Mr. DugdaleDuring the first nine months of 1947 the following numbers of reports were received in the Admiralty of chief petty officers and petty officers in the Royal Navy (not including the Royal Marines) re-engaging for a second period of Continuous Service engagement: Chief petty officers, 530; petty officers, 568.
I regret that at present separate figures for the three quarters, or figures for the last quarter of 1947, are not available; a statistical investigation of the rates of re-engagement during 1947 has recently been started and I will communicate with the hon. Member when it is completed.
§ Commander MaitlandWill the Minister see that that communication reaches us before the Estimates are discussed?
