§ 43. Mrs. Middletonasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether a decision has yet been reached 1808 concerning the absorption of naval pensioners serving as pensioner clerks into the clerical officer grade of Admiralty service, or when a decision upon this matter can be expected.
§ Mr. W. EdwardsA proposal is about to be made go the staff side of the Admiralty Administrative Whitley Council concerning the principle on which this question should be settled. Assuming agreement on this principle, some little time may be required to complete negotiations concerning its detailed application.
§ Mrs. MiddletonWill my hon. Friend hasten the conclusion of this matter, in view of the unfairness to many pensioner clerks who are employed in this service?
§ Mr. EdwardsI can assure my hon. Friend that we have that in mind. I am happy to say that it is much nearer a solution than we expected it would be a short time ago.
