§ 34. Mr. Sidney Shephardasked the Secretary of State for War, if, in view of the abolition of the basic petrol ration, he proposes to reintroduce the "G" licence system for officers of the Territorial Army who are not drawing supplementary petrol for other purposes.
§ Mr. ShinwellYes, Sir. The "G" licence system will be reintroduced for members of the Territorial Army and 686 officers of the Army Cadet Force who do not draw petrol for other purposes and who necessarily use their cars for military purposes. The scheme will be promulgated as soon as administrative details have been completed.
§ Mr. ShephardIs the Minister aware that the decision will be very welcome by the officers of the Territorial Army.
