HC Deb 17 November 1947 vol 444 c808
64. Mr. Vane

asked the Minister of Agriculture how many vacancies in the Land Service have been filled since 1st January, 1947; and of those candidates who have been selected whether all are qualified members of some professional society; and how many have had less than two years' professional experience since passing their final examinations.

Mr. T. Williams

Only one appointment has been made, but 81 candidates have just been declared successful in an open competition held by the Civil Service Commission, and are being offered appointments. I am getting the information asked for in the second and third parts of the Question and will write to the hon. Member.
