§ Mr. GaitskellThe total quantity of Scottish coal sent to England and Wales during the year 1946 was 608,000 tons; the corresponding figure for the period up to 25th October, 1947, was 601,000 tons. The amounts of coal sent from England and Wales to Scotland in the same periods were 370,000 and 310,000 tons, respectively.
